King IT opened their 8th store in Westfield Carindale over the weekend on the 4th of June, Saturday opening of their new, flagship store was much welcomed by the local community.
Since their first store opening on the Sunshine Coast in 2015, King IT has quickly gained support from consumers due to their niche in retail help and tech support, packaged in excellent customer service.
According to owner, Patrick King, there is no request that his outstanding team cannot complete from repair to data transfer to cyber security.
“While the IT sector is generally seen as oversaturated and competitive, King IT is very different. We’re filling the gap for our customers. Most retailers focus on the products, with tech support as an uncomfortable and clunky add-on.
“We built our model the other way around. We hire great communicators and train our team extensively. This is hard, which is why most businesses don't do it, but there is an incredible need for solving tech problems from simple issues to rather complicated questions,“ added Mr. King.
Mr. King also highlighted the fact they are very keen to focus on environmentally friendly and sustainable technology.
“We are also keen to work with the community to reduce CO2 and e-waste by making sure that we reduce, reuse and recycle.
“We reduce by repairing, reuse by selling refurbished devices, and repurposing older devices with phones donated to victims of domestic violence via DV Safe Phone, and laptops being donated to Teacher in a Box. We recycle everything else, including e-waste and soft plastics,” added Mr King.
The business model has certainly paid off for King IT, growing from one to eight stores, and 45 employees within the past seven years. Interestingly, the Carindale location was chosen by community demand, proving that King IT, indeed is putting their customers’ needs first.
The new store is located in Westfield Carindale, Shop 2204, above the casual dining precinct near JB HiFi, servicing customers from Monday till Sunday.
